A friend of mine once asked me what are the ingredients used for DIY Vape Juice. After my explanation, he was surprised. E-cigarettes do not contain actual tobacco or other harmful ingredients such as carbon monoxide and tar, which are found in traditional cigarettes. Rather, e-cigarettes use a liquid nicotine solution known as e-liquid or vape juice. What exactly is e-liquid? E-Liquid is made up of four basic ingredients; water, nicotine, flavorings, and propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin base (or sometimes a mixture of PG and VG). Let’s dive a little into these ingredients.
Nicotine – This is an addictive ingredient and can be found in both traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Nicotine stimulates and increases the blood pressure, respiration and heart rate within the central nervous system. Once nicotine reaches the brain, it provides a feeling of pleasure as the level of dopamine increases. Manufacturers tend to offer their products in varying ranges of nicotine content, ranging from 0 to 36 milligrams per milliliter. Nicotine is addictive and, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, “helps keep the brain from being addicted to others.”

Glycerine vegetable (VG) — Glycerine vegetables are a viscous substance used in everything from food and medications, personal care products and e-juice of course. For our purposes, VG’s main role is to make the visible “clouds” formed in vapor easier. VG tastes mildly sweet, and this gentle sweetness may probably have a positive effect on other vape juice flavors.
Propylene glycol (PG) is another ingredient made of synthetic liquid material and used by food and drug manufacturers. Propylene glycol (PG) has been listed in the FDA as an ingredient “generally considered to be safe” to be used. Most e-juice manufacturers use propylene glycol (PG), as it produces the vapor when heated, in their steam juice.
Examples of Propylene Glycol (PG)’s stuff including but not limited to: iced tea, toothpaste, dressings, cake frosting, and even many ice cream brands. These are a few example examples. PG is good because it’s a great solvent and has a low toxicity rate making it suitable for use in other products like electronic cigarettes and vapor products.
The final ingredient in e-liquid is flavor! Flavors are available in a wide variety, but for better-tasting e-liquid, I recommend using flavors made particularly for inhaling instead of using the commonly used food flavorings. While the usual mix requires about 10-20% flavoring, some are strong enough to require only 5%. Therefore, when using a certain flavor, make sure you read the labels and understand how it will impact your mix. Flavors are available from a wide variety of options, but I trust that you will benefit from Flavorah. Flavorah is the first fragrance to be developed for the processing of vapor. They are closely checked and tested to ensure they meet high expectations. Vape juice comes in different tastes that give a pleasant taste in the mouth and improve the vaping experience. Tastes vary from fruit, tobacco, menthol, chocolate flavors or a mixture of flavors. The range of available e-juice flavors allows one to make the right choice or to check the available flavors, which deliver a high degree of satisfaction and pride.
