Atmos has certainly made a name for themselves in the vaporizer world for manufacturing solid products that are as functional as they are aesthetically appeasing. The is one of their most popular items so it makes sense that we would take a look at it to see if it live up to all the hype.
For starters, the Raw vaporizer is an all in one kit that includes the battery, heating chamber, mouthpiece, charger, cleaning tools and manual. This is definitely a plus because some vapes only come with the heating chamber and mouthpiece which requires a separate battery and charger in order to really get started. Assembling the parts is incredibly simple. Connecting the battery to the heating chamber is just a matter of screwing the two parts together.
There’s a glass filter included which is specifically for use with dry herb so you’ll want to make sure that’s placed properly into the bottom of the heating chamber before you begin to fill it. Once that’s done the only thing left to do is drop in your dry herb and screw on the mouthpiece. Turning on the battery is the same procedure as most vape batteries. Just press the power button 5-times quickly and the light will flash indicating that it’s powered up and ready to go. For waxy oils or concentrates you’ll want to remove the glass filter before you put this material into the chamber. Otherwise the vaping process is exactly the same.
The overall construction of the Atmos Raw is noticeably solid. The inner portion of the heating chamber is ceramic and designed specifically to withstand the heat necessary for vaping dry herb or concentrates. The only drawback of the Raw design is that the chamber is a bit small and requires frequent refilling however this seems to be a common problem for vape manufacturers as creating a portable device that can hold more material is somewhat challenging. All-in-all it’s only a small inconvenience.
Overall the Atmos Rx Raw is a well-built and easy to use vaporizer that comes with everything you need to vape dry herb or waxy oils right out of the box. The solid construction promises you’ll have this vaporizer for a reasonable amount of time before you’ll need to replace any major parts.
One thing I didn’t like about the Raw is that the proprietary design allows only Atmos parts as replacements. They are not standard thread sizes like most vaporizers. Of course this ensures that they keep better quality control of their products and their reputation can’t be damaged by cheap knock-off parts.
Unfortunately many companies like Apple found this hurt sales in the long run by putting their product in a box that couldn’t compete with the prices of their competitors. We’ll see how they do in the long run but for now it seems to be working for them and the Atmos Raw is proof that Atmos is dedicated to making quality products for the end user.
